VEGA FLOORING
is suitable for rooms where traffic is normal, such as
dining rooms, lounges, corridors... VEGA
FLOORING must be laid indoorson a clean, stable,
flat, smooth and dry surface. Handle the packages carefully
during transportation to avoid damaging the tonques and
grooves. Laying damaged strips is not covered by warranty.
Store VEGA FLOORING flat for 48
hous, in it’s original packaging, at room
temperature (15 to 30 degrees C and maximum of
75%RH), in the room in whichit is to be laid.
Think of bying your skirting board today. There is a complete
range of matching skirting board to go with VEGA
FLOORING. Before laying the strips, you will
usually need to provide two underlays (ask your stockist’s
advice).
Tools required to lay the floor covering: Laying kit:
20 expansion joints + 1 crowbar + 1 block (for hammering)
1 set-square, 1 saw, 1 mallet. |

 |
Preparation |
| |
The flatter
the laying surface, the better the results
you will obtain with VEGA FLOORING.
To prevent the moisture rising on any concrete
floor, a high density 0.2 mm
polyethilene film should be placed on the
laying surface, leaving 20 cm
overlap at the joints. Leave expantion gaps
(8 mm minimum) in the doorways
and cover them with sill bars after laying.
Put down the sill bars'base prof. |
|
 |
Special Cases |
| |
Any difference
in level of more than 5 mm
over a lenght of 2 m should
be evened out. When the surface area of a
room is over 50 sqm or over
8 m in any direction the
surface should be split into several parts,
leaving expan-sion gaps that you could mask
with sill bars. |

Laying VEGA FLOORING |
VEGA FLOORING
is designed for glueless laying. VEGA FLOORING
must be laid as a "floating floor".
1. Check the squaring and alignment of
the walls. If there is a problem with the squaring or
alignment, trace out a cuttig line along the base of the
wall, using a spacer on the first fitted row.
2. Laying starts off from a corner of
the room, with the tongue sides facing the walls, placing
expancion squares every 75 cm between
the wall and flooring to leave a gap of 8 mm.
3. Cut the last panel of the first
row. The next row shoud be staggered by at least 30
cm from the first row by using the cut-off. Once
the first two rows have been laid, check the squaring
and alignment again, using a line or a builder`s square.
The panel should first be slotted together along the sides
and then along the end. You can use a block or the taping
bar provided for the areas that are more difficult to
reach (block and taping bar included in the laying kit).
4. When you reach the final row,
place a loose panel precisely on the last laid panel.
Place another panel on top, but with it`s edge 8 mm from
the wall. Trace a cutting line along the middle panel,
saw it along the line. 5. Lay
the panel you cut and ease it into position with the taping
bar provided in the laying kit. Insert spacers between
the wall and the last panel laid to be sure there is an
8 mm expansion gap. 6.
To pass obstacles through the floor covering (pipes, radiator
mount), use a pencil to trace the postion for drilling.
Find the center then drill, using a big enough bit to
leave 8 mm peripheral play. Cut the strip
in two so that the saw mark goes through the center of
the drilled hole, so that the strip can be reassembled
around the pipe. If the obstacle is on the long side of
the strip, cut it in a trapezoid shape, otherwise a straight
cut would be the best. The floor is ready
for use as soon as it is laid. |

FINISHING |
| |
1. Remove
the spacers. Cover the expansion joints around
the flooring with skirting and/or quadrants.
Fit theese products to the walls without glueing
them to the floor. 2. FIt
in the upper part of the sill bars to hide
the expansion gaps. 3. Any
remaining panels can be kept for several years,
stored flat in a moi- sture-free area. Furniture
can be put back in posion right away. |
